Southampton School District Budget and Board Election

Monday, May 21, 8:00 am to 9:00 pm

The Southampton Intermediate School, 70 Leland Lane.

The Southampton School District Budget for 2019-2020 and two board seats will be voted on. The budget increased and is now at $71,908,015.  There are two Board seat openings and the candidates are Donald J. King, Meesha Johnson, Leslie Duroseau and Charles Styler.

Southampton Association Offers Four Scholarships to Southampton High School Students

The Southampton Association is offering 4 scholarships in 2019 to Southampton High School students to assist with their college expenses. The Association’s Scholarship Committee will again choose two students to receive the Southampton Association Scholarship in Memory of Arthur B. Schoen, Jr. and Todd Goodwin which provides $4,000.00 per year to each for their four years of college.  Students should check with the Southampton High School Guidance Office on details.

Public Forum on Southampton School District Office Plans, Thursday, July 19, 6 PM

Thursday, July 19, 6:00 PM  –  Music Room of the Southampton Intermediate School, Leland Lane

The Southampton School District Administration and Board are seeking input for plans on a new administration building. Their last proposal to purchase a house on Narrow Lane, make renovations and pave additional school property for parking, at a cost of $5.2m, was turned down by the voters in May by a vote of 397 to 894. This was the second time the voters rejected a plan by the District

School Vote Results and Village Election on June 15

The Southampton School Budget and Board Vote was on May 15,    All propositions passed except Proposition 3:  a $5.2 million proposal to purchase a Village home and convert it into administration offices.   That vote was:

Two Students Awarded the Southampton Association Scholarship in Memory of Arthur B. Schoen, Jr. and Todd Goodwin

On Saturday, June 10,  two Southampton High School seniors were honored for receiving the Southampton Association Scholarship in Memory of Arthur B. Schoen, Jr. and Todd Goodwin. They were introduced to a large group who gathered for the “Celebration of Southampton” party at Swan Lawn, home of Ellen and Chuck Scarborough.  Each student will receive $4000. per year for each year of college.

Village Meeting Minutes January – March, 2017

The main topics of conversation throughout the Village during the First Quarter of 2017 primarily concerned the public hearings regarding the Tuckahoe Mall and the continued discussion (including delay and watering down) of enacting any additional residential zoning restrictions. The 24 condo development at the Village Latch continues to move forward while more details regarding the use of community preservation funds to purchase the Pyrrhus Concer site on Pond Lane have come to light.

Village Meeting Minutes – October thru December 2016
