Liberty Gardens Project

There is currently a proposal for a federally funded housing project with 60 units on CR39 behind the Southampton Full Gospel Church across from the Burger King.  As the letter below outlines, the project is full of hidden issues and will in no way satisfy our need for affordable workforce housing.  At the hearing on October 25th, the developer for the complex brought in three bus loads of out-of-town supporters who all testified in favor

Southampton Association Scholarship applications now available at the Southampton High School

Applications for the Southampton Association Scholarships in Honor of Arthur B. Schoen, Jr. and Todd Goodwin are available at the Southampton High School Guidance Office,   There will be two winners chosen from the Class of 2022 who are selected by the Association’s Scholarship Committee.  Each will receive $4,000 per year for four years of college.  If interested please complete the application and return it by early April.  The winners in 2021 were Riley Fisher,

Reception held to honor Southampton Village retail owners and managers Sept. 24, 2021

The Executive Committee and members of The Southampton Association invited the retail owners and managers of Southampton Village to a reception in their honor on Friday, September 24th at the Southampton Club.  The event gave the Board members an opportunity to thank and acknowledge the business owners and managers for their efforts to serve local residents so well through the challenging time of Covid.

If you or family members, including students, have not yet registered to vote in the local elections (Village, Town, School, Library and Museum) start the process now by going to suffolkvotes.com.  The form can be downloaded.

Southampton Association Scholarships

The Southampton Association Scholarship in Memory of Arthur B. Schoen, Jr. and Todd Goodwin, was given in 2020 to two students based on academic promise, achievement, and demonstrates desire, perseverance and need, who have contributed to the school and the community and have clear educational goals. Each will receive $4,000. per year for each year of college. 

The students are:

Lukas Baumalis, Boston University and Tonoa Pendar, Penn State

Two Students Awarded the Southampton Association Scholarship in Memory of Arthur B. Schoen, Jr. and Todd Goodwin

On Saturday, June 10,  two Southampton High School seniors were honored for receiving the Southampton Association Scholarship in Memory of Arthur B. Schoen, Jr. and Todd Goodwin. They were introduced to a large group who gathered for the “Celebration of Southampton” party at Swan Lawn, home of Ellen and Chuck Scarborough.  Each student will receive $4000. per year for each year of college.

Village Meeting Minutes January – March, 2017

The main topics of conversation throughout the Village during the First Quarter of 2017 primarily concerned the public hearings regarding the Tuckahoe Mall and the continued discussion (including delay and watering down) of enacting any additional residential zoning restrictions. The 24 condo development at the Village Latch continues to move forward while more details regarding the use of community preservation funds to purchase the Pyrrhus Concer site on Pond Lane have come to light.
