Michael Irving Elected Southampton Village Mayor
Michael Irving, a Village Trustee, won the mayor’s seat against fellow Trustee Richard Yastrzemski 477-379.
Trustees Nancy McGann: 536 votes and Bill Hattrick: 626 votes.
Valerie Smith, a third candidate, won 49 votes and write in candidate, Jesse Warren received 151 votes. Mr.Yastrzemski will continue to serve on the board for another year.One of Mr. Irving’s first duties will be to appoint someone to fill the vacant seat that will be created on the five-member panel following Friday’s race. That person will finish the winner’s two-year term on the dais.

Update & Board meeting Videos on Gin Lane and Mocomanto building projects
On July 24th 24/28 Gin Lane was again discussed at the ARB meeting. It was adjourned until August 14 for further certification from the building inspector and time to research grading, receive clarification on retaining wall, and any open questions on septic, retaining walls, backfill and height.

Two Students Awarded the Southampton Association Scholarship in Memory of Arthur B. Schoen, Jr. and Todd Goodwin
On Saturday, June 10, two Southampton High School seniors were honored for receiving the Southampton Association Scholarship in Memory of Arthur B. Schoen, Jr. and Todd Goodwin. They were introduced to a large group who gathered for the “Celebration of Southampton” party at Swan Lawn, home of Ellen and Chuck Scarborough. Each student will receive $4000. per year for each year of college.
