Village Meeting Minutes – January and February 2014

At the January and February Trustees meetings, the main issue was the application to develop a 56 unit senior housing complex on Moses Lane, near Corrigan Street.  The 11 acre property is currently zoned for ½ acre residential parcels.  As a result, the developer is applying under a code provision that allows for a zoning change where the property lies within a “walkable” distance of the village center (defined as ½ mile from the village business district.)  Each unit would be

Village Meeting Minutes – November and December, 2013

At the November and December Trustees meetings, the main topics of conversation were discussions regarding the redevelopment of the Village Latch, the establishment of a dog park at Lola Prentice Park and the possible rezoning of North Sea Road to permit additional retail uses.  In addition, the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance Corp. reiterated their need for a renovated or new facility and the Southampton Association offered to work with the Village to update parking requirements in the

Village Meeting Minutes – September – October 2013

At the September and October Trustees meetings, the main topics of conversation were discussions regarding zoning and development related issues in and around our Village.

 The board of Trustees began reviewing a proposal to change the zoning on the Village Latch property on Hill Street from R-20 (1/2 acre residential) to Motel Business District.  The Village Latch (which is in the historic district) has been operating as a pre-existing, non-conforming inn for many years.

Village Meeting Minutes – November and December 2012

At the November and December Board of Trustees meetings, the main topics of discussion were the highway zoning amendment which could permit a Fresh Market grocery store at the former Glennon Cadillac site in the village and the town proposal to grant a variance for the construction of a King Kullen shopping center on County Road 39 in Tuckahoe.
